You need:
Your language detective skills

Quick Start

1
Read carefully & spot the mistake
2
Correct it without changing the meaning
3
Reveal the answer & compare

Let's Begin!

You’ve arrived at a small café. The food looks good. The English on the menu is having a more difficult afternoon.

Check these six extracts from the fictional menu. Some need editing; others can stay. When you make a change, decide whether it fixes grammar, spelling, meaning or simply clarity.

  1. “All our bread are baked fresh every morning.”
  2. “Today’s special: chocolate mouse with whipped cream.”
  3. “Please let us know if you have any food allergies.”
  4. “Every dishes comes with a side salad.”
  5. “We have much delicious soups to choose from.”
  6. “Our kitchen closes at 9 pm. Drinks are available until 10 pm.”

Extra challenge: Invent one delightfully disastrous menu item caused by a small language mistake, then correct it. Can the mistake change what customers think they’re ordering?
