Let's Begin!

A friend sends you a message about a weekend trip. Their enthusiasm is unmistakable. Their timeline is less impressive.

Today is Friday. They plan to travel on Saturday, return on Sunday and tell you how it went on Monday. Check the six messages against that timeline. Some need correction; others don’t.

  1. Friday: “Tomorrow I went to the coast.”
  2. Friday: “I’ve already packed my bag.”
  3. Saturday, on the train: “By the time we arrive, the museum will have closed.”
  4. Sunday, before leaving the hotel: “We’ve been staying here since yesterday.”
  5. Monday: “I have visited the castle on Saturday.”
  6. Monday: “I wish we could have stayed longer.”

Extra challenge: Write three sentences about a trip: one plan, one event that happened, and one thing you regret or wish had been different. Keep the timeline unmistakable.
